Uttar Pradesh, several ministers, MLAs and party leaders have reached at the official residence of Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav who has convened the meeting to ponder over the situation after his candidates were sidelined in the list issued by Mulayam Singh Yadav yesterday. The people are still reaching and meeting is yet to begin.
All those who are expected to take part in the meeting, mostly comprises of leaders who were not given ticket by Mulayam Singh despite recommendation of the Chief Minister. Huge gathering of his followers has also gathered in front of Mr Shivpal Yadav's residence. Sources said that Mr Mulayam Singh may attend a separate meeting at the party HQs where Shivpal Yadav is about to reach to discuss the new scenario as CM Akhilesh has again shown a rebellious face.
Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav had sent a list of candidates to Party supremo Mulayam Singh a few days ago. But the list issued by Mulayam Singh yesterday did not include around 80 candidates recommended by son Akhilesh, including some very close youth leaders to CM. Now the Party has announced names of 325 candidates whereas names will be decided for 78 constituencies later.
Supporters of various factions have gathered outside the residences of their respective leaders and party HQs. A very tense calm prevails in Lucknow among Samajwadi Party supporters and leaders waiting for the outcome of the meetings.
