PM meets Deputy Prime Minister of Singapore, Emeritus Senior Minister of Singapore, and President of Israel The Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi, who is in Singapore to attend the funeral of the founding father of Singapore, Mr. Lee Kuan Yew, today met Deputy Prime Minister of Singapore, Mr. Tharman Shanmugaratnam, and said India and Singapore should work together more closely, in tune with the thinking of Mr. Lee Kuan Yew. He said Mr. Lee Kuan Yew’s drive for public housing and cleanliness are models for us. The Singapore Deputy Prime Minister appreciated the efforts of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, towards cooperative competitive federalism. The Prime Minister met Emeritus Senior Minister of Singapore Goh Chok Tong, who said Singapore appreciates India’s gestures during Singapore's hour of grief. The Prime Minister met the President of Israel , Mr. Reuvin Rivlin. Both leaders discussed ways to further enhance cooperation between the two countries. 
World powers to hold talks with Iran on nuclear deal Mar 30,  10:59 AM Ministers from six world powers are expected to hold their first full session today with Iran's foreign minister over its nuclear programme. Tomorrow is the deadline for reaching an agreement. The essence of an emerging deal is to keep Iran at least one year away from being able to produce enough nuclear fuel for a single weapon. Representatives from the US, Germany, France, the UK, China and Russia are at the talks in Lausanne, Switzerland. Iran denies it is aiming to build nuclear weapons and is hoping that a deal will lead to the lifting of international sanction.
Forex Reserves at all-time high of USD 339.99 bn India's foreign exchange reserves shot up to an all-time high of 339.99 billion dollar in the week ended 20th March. A RBI release said that foreign currency assets, a major part of the overall reserves, grew by 4.54 billion dollar to 314.88 billion dollar for the reporting week. In the previous week, the reserves had dropped by 2.06 billion dollar to 335.73 billion dollar. The country's gold reserves remained unchanged at 19.837 billion US Dollars for the reporting week while the special drawing rights increased by 18.2 million dollars to 3.978 billion Dollars. India’s reserve position with the International Monetary Fund, however declined by 295.8 million dollars to 1.289 billion dollars during the reporting week.

Two ships dispatched to bring back Indians stranded in Yemen Mar 30,  12:57 PM In Kerala, the state Minister of Non-Keralite Affairs and Information & Public Relations, K C Joseph today said that all steps have been taken to bring back Indians stranded in the strife-torn Yemen. Speaking to media persons in Kannur, the Minister said two ships have been dispatched to bring them back and accommodation facilities have been arranged at New Delhi and Mumbai for Keralites returning home. He termed the allegations that Indian Embassy officials demanded money to help those stranded as baseless. The Minister noted that about 3500 Indian nationals are held up in the strife-torn country, of which 70 per cent are from Kerala. He appealed to nurses to leave Yemen at the earliest, without waiting for settlement of their salaries. Jhelum crosses danger mark in Srinagar Mar 30, Jammu and Kashmir government today declared a flood situation in Kashmir Valley as Jhelum river crossed the danger mark in Srinagar following incessant rains. According to the Chief Engineer Irrigation and Flood Control Kashmir, river Jhelum crossed the danger mark of 18 feet and 22 feet at Ram Munshibagh and Sangam respectively at 7 AM. Accordingly the authorities have declared that Kashmir is facing a flood situation and people living in low lying areas, especially in and around Jhelum, have been advised to move to safer areas. Elderly persons and children have also been asked to shift to specially set up camps. Two houses sunk into ground at Chadoora area in Budgam district of Kashmir. 16 people are reported to be trapped inside.
