Significant developments in states have been observed at various fronts such as economic development, agriculture, infrastructure, tourism and health. India signed Financing Agreement with World Bank for US$ 250 Million for Jhelum and Tawi Flood Recovery Project and Kosi River in Bihar . Health Ministry released its results from 1st phase of NFHS-4 survey. Further, the Commercial tax department of Bihar has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT) for sharing of foreign exchange realization data.
On agricultural front, the Union Agriculture Ministry has asked the Uttar Pradesh government to expedite issuing of soil health cards to farmers as the state has not performed to its potential. The state government of Uttar Pradesh has been asked to monitor this programme so that the targets fixed for UP are achieved and the programme gets priority it deserves.
On infrastructural front, the Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs, chaired by the Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi ji, has given its approval for development of the four laning of the Nagina-Kashipur section of National Highway – 74 in Uttarakhand and Uttar Pradesh. This work will be under the National Highways Development Project (NHDP) Phase-IV.
The Asian Development Bank (ADB) and the Government of India has signed an $80million loan agreement to improve infrastructure in Agartala and Aizwal.
On health front, the Jharkhand government will set up health centres in villages and hamlets inhabited by tribes and the entire project will be funded by the Jharkhand government. According to a National Health Mission concept note, the project will cover eight Particularly Vulnerable Tribal Groups (PVTGs)-- Asur, Birhor, Birajia, Korwa, Sabar, Pahariya (Baiga), Mal Pahariya and Souriya Pahariya.
On tourism front, with the tagline of ‘jaane kya dikh jaaye’, Rajasthan government recently launched a multi-crore rupees media campaign to create a buzz about the state in order to boost tourism by 2020.
