Moderate earthquake jolts several States of Eastern India

A moderate earthquake jolted several States of Eastern India, including Assam, Meghalaya, Sikkim and West Bengal this morning. Official sources said, epicenter of the 5.6 magnitude quake was Kokrajhar in Assam.
Chief Executive Officer of Assam Disaster Management Authority , P K Tiwari said that two vendors sustained injuries in Kokrajhar district when an old railway wall collapsed in the tremor. But their conditions are not serious. In another incident, gate of a religious place was partially damaged at Basugaon. Meanwhile, government officials urged people not to pay attention to rumors following the earthquake.
