I am writing to you today to share the details for Porter Prize 2015. As you are aware, Porter Prize recognizes the strategic acumen of corporates in India and is named after Harvard faculty member, Father of modern strategic field and Thinker Professor Michael E. Porter. He is a leading authority on Competitive Strategy, Competitiveness and Economic Development of Nations, States and Regions, and the application of competitive principles to social problems such as healthcare, the environment, and corporate responsibility.
Building on our endeavor of last three years ( http://www.porterprize.in/archives/) we shall continue the journey to identify and celebrate the best. Last year twenty seven exceptional companies were shortlisted ( http://www.porterprize.in/shortlisted-companies-2014/) for the
Porter Prize audit and eventually we had nine winners listed at http://www.porterprize.in/winners-2014/ and http://www.isc.hbs.edu/about-michael-porter/honor.... The winners were Mahindra Logistics, Siemens, Indigo Airlines, Tech Mahindra, Dow Chemical International, Fortis Healthcare, Hindustan Unilever, Essar Foundation, and Max India across eight categories. Some of the other winners from the previous years are Airtel, MakeMyTrip, Mother Diary, GroupM, Godrej, Uninor, and HDFC etc.
Porter Prize as you know would be given under the following categories –

- Industry Architectural Shift
- Exploiting Tradeoffs
- Creating Distinctive Value
- Value Based Healthcare
- Creating Shared Value (in association with FSG)
- Enabling Social Progress
- Excellence in Corporate Integration & Governance
We invite your organization to make an application for the Porter Prize 2015. The applications are accepted on a rolling basis and the first round of applications closes on July 15, 2015. You could make an application at http://www.porterprize.in/apply/ to participate and the award event is scheduled for September 25, 2015 in New Delhi (NCR).
The award has a robust three-stage process of making an application, strategy audit and jury evaluation. The members of the jury include Mark Kramer, Christian Ketels, Sukumar Ranganathan, Dr. Wilfried Aulbur, Justin Bakule, Lalitha Vaidyanathan et al. Roland Berger leads the strategy audit process and the outcomes are Benchmarking Report and Coffee Table Book.
The participating organisations of Porter Prize also automatically qualifies for the IFC-Mint Strategy awards, which reward the best companies based on value creation, innovation and strategy in their specific domain area. Last years winners are National Insurance (Finance, Banking and Insurance), Abbott India (Healthcare and Pharmaceuticals), Operation Asha (Social Assistance), Adani Wilmar (Food and Beverage), CESC (Utilities, Gas, Water and Power), DHL (Transportation and Logistics), Zicom (Computers and Electrical Appliances), Sobha Developers (Construction and Real Estate), Ramboll (Engineering Services), and Mahindra first choice wheels (Information and Media).

Porter Prize is named after Michael E Porter who is Professor at Harvard Business School, living legend and father of modern strategy field. The central idea of the Porter Prize is to propel companies to compete on the basis of value creation, innovation and strategy.
