At ‘Smaaash Master Blaster School Cricket Championship’
19th September 2014: After 5 days of intense cricketing action, covering 102 schools, involving participation of over 1500 students, the 2nd edition of the Smaaash Master Blaster School Cricket Championship, a grass root level cricket initiative undertaken by SMAAASH in partnership with MSSA to unearth the city’s best cricketing talent, concluded this Friday with Top 3 winners in the U-14 boys and U-16 (boys and girls) category.
The cricket competition provided an opportunity to Mumbai school teams allowing them to test their batting skills while facing international bowlers, in an ambience wherein the students experienced the real thrill of batting to a ball thrown by cricketing legends. The unique cricket tournament played at the first-of-its-kind 360° cricket simulator saw IES VN Sule Guruji English Medium School (U-16-boys), Sulochanadevi Singhania School (Thane) (U-14-boys), St Columba School (U-16-girls) emerge as winners.
The winners of the 2nd edition of the Smaaash master Blaster Cricket Championship will be awarded by ace cricketer Sachin Tendulkar at a special ceremony, to be held at a later date.
