Abe addressing speeches stresses importance of “Abenomics”
Prime Minister Shinzo Abe says the Japanese economy is steadily improving.Abe made the remark in a series of speeches across Tokyo on Saturday, one week before the official campaign starts for the June 23rd Tokyo Metropolitan Assembly election. Abe stressed his resolve to push for economic growth by getting the country out of deflation.His economic initiative, known as Abenomics, consists of what he calls “the three arrows”. They are bold monetary easing, flexible fiscal spending and a growth strategy to encourage private sector investment.
Abe said both production and consumption are showing signs of improvement that exceed the levels of the previous business year. He says the ratio of jobs to job-seekers has recovered to where it was before the collapse of Lehman Brothers in 2008.
Abe acknowledged that many people are still not feeling the effects of an economic recovery. He said some people complain that only big companies are enjoying better conditions.
Abe said it may take a little more time for the positive results to trickle down to consumers but if he gives up now, things will only go back to where they were.NHK
