Talented ‘Coca-Cola XI’ squad announced in New Delhi

New Delhi, May 7th 2013: Following an intensive week of cricketing talent at the Coca-Cola Cricket Cup U16 Coaching Camp, the final Coca-Cola XI squad was announced for the upcoming Sri Lanka series.
Of the 24 young cricketers who were a part of the coaching camp, the best 15 were picked up for the final squad. The Coca-Cola XI will play against the Sri Lankan National Under-16 team in three match series, scheduled in Sri Lanka from May 27 to June 3, 2013.
The team will be lead by Nitin Tanwar from New Delhi, thanks to an impressive display of cricket and leadership skills during the Inter State Tournament and the training camp.
The Coca-Cola XI team – Captain Nitin Tanwar, Shivam Chauhan, Md Kaif Ahmed, Suraj Rai, Vikas Dixit, Anees Ali, Prashant Vashisth (Salwan Boys High School, New Delhi), Mehboob Sheikh, Haashir Dafedar and Usman Gani (Anjuman I-Islam Allana Eng. School, Mumbai), Rang Rajan Divedi, Anupam Kumar, Amar Choudhary (CAV Inter College, Allahabad, UP), Daryl Ferrario (Don Bosco Matriculation HSS, TN), Pranjal Puri (Christian Eminent, MP).
The selected players were coached on various aspects of the game and received invaluable tips in areas such as bowling variations, playing accurately on the back and front foot, essentials of wicket keeping, the best strategy to execute in all 3 formats of the game, directive match planning, maintaining fitness, and body recovery methods through swimming.
Three players who perform exceedingly well during the series will meet the criteria to travel to the United Kingdom in the month of August to further carve a bright cricketing future for themselves. Procam International will nurture these boys both on and off the field, enabling them to make the best use of their talent and be given opportunities to succeed in the sport of cricket. Players from the previous edition who were provided with an opportunity to hone their skills in the UK were Sarfaraz Khan from Mumbai, Nitin Tanwar from New Delhi and Akshay Brahmbhatt from Baroda.
The coaching clinic was conducted by renowned cricketers and coaches that included Martin Gleeson (Technical Adviser, Cricket India Academy), Dr. Sanjay Bhardwaj (Level III coach, BCCI), Saba Karim (Former Indian Cricketer), Iqbal Thakur (Former Ranji Player, Western Railway) and Abhishek Shekhawat.

More About the Coca-Cola U-16 Cricket Cup
The Coca-Cola Intra-State Challenge was played in Mumbai, Delhi, Hyderabad, Andhra Pradesh (all 13 districts), Punjab (six major districts and 14 minor districts), Baroda, Tamil Nadu (6 districts), West Bengal (18 districts), Uttar Pradesh (Lucknow and Kanpur) and Madhya Pradesh. The format of the Coca-Cola Cricket Cup was structured to begin with the Intra-State Challenge, which was open to all schools in the respective cities and districts. The centers that have more than one city or district played their own inter-district before one winner emerged from each center. The winners from the ten centers will feature in the Inter-State Challenge.
