Warm greetings from Swaraj Abhiyan Team !

 

A lot has happened in recent past and this e-mail is being sent to update everyone with regards to progress made by Swaraj Abhiyan!

 

In a short span of six months, Swaraj Abhiyan has become an evolving platform of alternative politics. It was founded on 14th April in an environment of great betrayal, falsehood and disenchantment. But there was a convergence of courage of conviction and power of wisdom.

Swaraj Abhiyan, in this short period, has established itself as a reasonable and sane voice on issues that affect most of us. We've been able to build an organisational framework which can sustain itself in the long run.

Now it looks like a national body after 

1. Presenting a New Agenda for India, 
2. Conducting 22 state level dialogues, 
3. A nationwide mobilization for sane agricultural policy & land laws through Jai Kisan Andolan, 
4. Initiative for Aman Committees, 
5. Promoting anti-corruption RTI and PIL activists, 
6. Mobilising for Shiksha Swaraj, and 
7. Construction of a viable framework with a constitution and task groups.

Swaraj Abhiyan is now poised for a big leap by conferring membership and eventually holding bottoms up organisational elections. It looks promising as a concerned citizens' meeting point for action for Swaraj - economic, social, political and personal - by working towards corruption free India.

  Swaraj Abhiyan Press Note, Nov 18 Will Arvind Kejriwal clarify his view on Sarbat Khalsa 2015 resolution? As confusion and anarchy prevails in Punjab, it seems Aam Aadmi Party is game for cheap politics in the state. On 16th November, at the 100th martyrdom day of Shaheed Kartar Singh Sarabha, AAP Punjab Convenor in his address to media supported all decisions taken at the Sarbat Khalsa Congregation on 10th November. In this context, it becomes important that the National Convenor of Aam Aadmi Party, Sh Arvind Kejriwal clarifies his stand on the following points immediately. 1) Does he agree with the wording of the preface "Sikh struggle for independence" and content therein - "the fight for Sikh Rule will be fought with determination, unity and discipline until the achievement of victory" as also the reference in resolution number 9 "present struggle for independence of the Sikh"? 2) What is his position on the resolution of 26 January 1986 which was readopted at the "Sarbat Khalsa"? 3) Can he clarify his position regarding the claim of the chief organiser of "Sarbat Khalsa" Mr Simranjit Singh Maan that the "Sarbat Khalsa was a Khalistani Stage"? It is important that Arvind Kejriwal explain his stand in clear words. We demand this from Aam Aadmi Party because AAP was formed on the ideals of alternative politics, which was to fight against the use of religion to flare up emotions and use it for narrow political gains. That Aam Aadmi Party in Punjab should now try to exploit religious sentiments of the people of Punjab is not only sad but also leading Punjab onto a dangerous path. Swaraj Abhiyan calls upon Arvind Kejriwal that he speak out in the best interests of Unity & Integrity of the Country.
