VHP criticizes UPA Govt on Ram Setu
Reaffirmed its demand to Declare Ram Setu a National Monument

New Delhi. April.20, 2012. Vishwa Hindu Parishad(VHP) today criticizes
UPA government’s stand on Ram setu terming it as an anti Hindu act
hitting sentiments of Hindus all over the globe. After a meeting of
VHP Delhi today, its secretary general shri Satyendra Mohan said that
the recent stand of the union government on Ram setu should be
condemned from all sections of the society. It has hurt sentiments of
largest section of the society. Ram setu has ever been our pious place
of worship and any move to destroy it will become disastrous for those
who intend to do so. We reaffirm our demand to make it a national
monument.

Detailing media persons about the meeting shri Vinod Bansal, the media
chief of VHP Delhi said that our meeting today adopted a resolution
criticizing GOI move declining to declare Ramsetu as national
monument. By declining to declare in apex court, it seems that GOI
still has its intention to destroy it, as it had tried to do so
earlier. As the Ramsetu has always been our pious place of worship and
any move to destroy it will become disastrous for those who intend to
do so.

We demand that the GOI stand and the Pachouri committee
recommendations on the issue should be made public. GOI can not escape
its duties & responsibilities towards hindu society. There is a large
resentment in our sant samaj on this issue. They have already demanded
to declare Ramsetu as national monument, the resolution added.
In another resolution, VHP Delhi congratulated scientists, defence
personnel, countrymen and all those who made the AGNI-V a grand
success. It is  a matter of great pride for us and we wish to continue
this success in the time to come, the resolution added.
