For the last 40 years, Earth Day has been celebrated around the world to call attention to some of our most pressing environmental and social problems, including climate change, biodiversity loss, and dwindling natural resources. 

In response to these problems, the Barilla Center for Food & Nutrition (BCFN), in collaboration with Nourishing the Planet, is releasing Eating Planet: Nutrition Today: A Challenge for Mankind and for the Planet, which offers a critical view of the changes necessary to make our food production system more fair, affordable, and sustainable.  

Eating Planet features contributions from leading international experts, including Nobel Peace Prize winner Shimon Peres, world-renowned economist and Italian Prime Minister Mario Monti, philosopher and environmental activist Vandana Shiva, and founder of Slow Food International Carlo Petrini.
