VIBRANT GUJARAT SUMMIT: 31 MOUS INKED

Thirty one Memoranda of Understanding (MOUs) were inked in various fields on the inaugural day of the 7th Vibrant Gujarat Global Investors Summit in Gandhinagar yesterday.
This was announced by Additional Chief Secretary of the Education Department in the Gujarat Government Arvind Agrawal last evening. Addressing media persons, he said, a major MoU was signed between World Bank, Government of India and the Gujarat Government, according to which the World bank will support Gujarat in the ‘Swachhta Abhiyan’ or cleanliness mission, and build smart cities.
An official release issued last evening said, other key MoUs were signed by Rail Vikas Nigam Limited for rail systems and Indo-Chin Development Private Ltd. for a trade centre.
In the theme Seminar, ‘Gujarat: preferred hub for defense production’, as many as 11 MoUs were signed. One of the MoUs included Adani Enterprise’s interest to develop integrated solar PV manufacturing cluster and Narmada Bio-chem to produce organic and inorganic fertilizer.
12 MoUs were signed in the field of innovation in food processing for sustaining food security.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the 3-day summit yesterday which saw the presence of many world leaders, including UN Secretary-General Ban-ki Moon and US Secretary of State John Kerry.
In his address, Mr Modi called for sustainable and inclusive growth to minimise fluctuations in the global economy. He promised to make India easiest place to do business. Mr Modi also held seperate bilateral meetings with top world and corporate leaders. The World leaders lauded Mr Modi’s leadership and vision.
