Sri Lanka once being colonized by the Portuguese, Dutch and British, has the advantage of offering a diversity of culture on a single island. Famed for its natural beauty, the island is famously known as the pearl of the Indian Ocean. Being a tropical country, it makes for a perfect holiday destination all year around. The climate is tropical and warm, due to the moderating effects of ocean winds. Colombo, located on the west cost of the island, is the largest city and the commercial, industrial and cultural capital of Sri Lanka. The tiny island is also home to the first known Buddhist composed writings. Sri Lanka has declared 24 wildlife reserves, which are home to a wide range of native species. Visitors are spoilt for choice when visiting this island with the option to scuba dive, visit an elephant orphanage and a lagoon of singing fish, or explore a variety of jungle sites, shrines and temples. Situated just 20 miles off India, the island formerly known as Ceylon is home to six world heritage sites.
Male’ is interesting to visit mainly for a taste of Maldivian life more than for its inherent wealth of things to see and do. Guests will find that this is a place for the -pleasant and pleasingly quirky – its bars and restaurants jostle with its incredible array of shops and lively markets with the general hubbub of a capital. This is a chance to get a real feel for the Maldives, what makes its people tick and to meet Maldivians on an equal footing.

Maldives main attraction is the sea and hence it can be referred as ‘a treasure trove of marine life’, a collection of low-lying choral islands, situated in the Indian Ocean. It is a heaven for those who love beautiful sandy beaches, great resorts and scuba diving in the blue sea waters. Various fish and plant species are found around the coral reefs. More than 700 species of fishes are found around these reefs, such as Trevally’s, Dogtooth Tuna, Tuna, Jacks, Sweetlips, Butterfly fish, Wahoo and Fusiliers. This small country has a highly developed tourism sector and many great tourist attractions.

AirAsia X was the first long-haul, low fare carrier to introduce Premium Flatbed seats, which have standard business class specifications of 20” width, 60” pitch and stretch out to 77” in full recline position.

The Premium flatbeds feature universal power sockets, adjustable headrests and built-in personal utilities such as tray table, drink holder, reading light and privacy screen. Premium seat guests also enjoy premium complimentary products and services including Pick A Seat, Priority Check-in, Priority Boarding, Priority Baggage, 25kg Baggage Allowance, Complimentary Meal and Pillow & Duvet.

AirAsia X was awarded the World’s Best Low Cost Airline Premium Seat and the World’s Best Low Cost Airline Premium Class titles at the 2013 Skytrax World Airline Awards which took place at the Paris Airshow. The AirAsia Group also received its 5th consecutive year title as the World’s Best and Asia’s Best Low Cost Airline at the 2013 Skytrax World Airline Awards.

USHA NORTHERN INDIA LADIES & JUNIOR GIRLS GOLF CHAMPIONSHIP 2013 to get Underway at the CLASSIC GOLF COURSE in GURGAON
Country’s top two Amateur Lady Golfers Gurbani Singh and Aditi Ashok set to Resume Rivalry
Gurgaon, October 8: Usha Northern India Ladies & Junior Girls Golf Championship, an Indian Golf Union (IGU) categorized event, is set to get underway at the Classic Golf Course in Gurgaon, Haryana. This is one of the four zonal events that Usha sponsors. The other three zonal events are: Usha Southern India Ladies Open, Usha Western India Ladies Open and Usha Eastern India Ladies Open. Usha International (UIL) is strongly committed to the development of sports in the country and has been a major supporter of Golf for the last 25 years. The event which has seen a record 61 entries this year will be played over three days and 54 holes in the stroke-play format.
Gurbani Singh of the Delhi Golf Club, the current Order of Merit leader of the IGU Ladies Amateur Golf Tour, who is in splendid form this season and is coming off a facile victory in Chandigarh last week, will again start as favourite. She will however be wary of her fiercest rival on tour in recent years, Bangalore based Aditi Ashok, who missed the Chandigarh event but has been drawn to tee off at Gurgaon. Both have held the distinction of being the youngest winners of the IGU Ladies Tour and last year, Gurbani piped Aditi to the post to win the tour. They are again among the top two this year and are clearly looking to pull away decisively from the chasing pack. The tournament will see the winner emerge of Friday, October 11.
Other participants to look out for in the tournament will be the likes of GAURI MONGA, MILLIE SAROHA, RIDDHIMA DILAWARI and SEHER ATWAL, regular top 10 finishers and who will be eager to make their move up MERIT list.
The Ladies will also look to log some valuable points to make it to the Indian National Squad. With Golf being included in the 2016 Summer Olympics, this will be important to give them the much needed international exposure, if they ultimately make it to the Indian team for the Olympics.
Usha’s unwavering support to Golf has encouraged many promising young talents across to the nation pursue the sport in a professional manner. USHA covers the entire spectrum of the game in the country – from juniors, to ladies, to professional golf. USHA also sponsors golf training programmes and has been associated with the Junior Training Programme at the prestigious Delhi
Golf Club since 2006. USHA sponsored the 33rd Queen Sirikit Cup Championship in New Delhi in 2011. It is the most important women’s amateur golf event in the Asia Pacific region.
