Peoples Joint Action Committee for Boroland Movement (PJACBM), a conglomeration of 55 Organisations of various ethnic groups living in the proposed Boroland state in Assam is closely watching and monitoring the present move of the Congress lead UPA-II Government in the Centre on Government’s final call early next week on the demand to create a separate state of Telangana in Andhra Pradesh after its central leadership held several rounds of discussions on the long-pending issue with various stakeholders on Friday in New Delhi.

Peoples’ Joint Action Committee for Boroland Movement (PJACBM) welcomes the present move of the Congress Working Committee’s decision to create a separate state of Telangana.

We are aware of the fact that millions of people in the country having aspiration of right to self determination on their own affairs including us as PJACBM have been waiting eagerly with  appreciation for formation of more smaller states in the country to fulfill their long cherished legitimate demands of separate states like, Telangana, Boroland, Gorkhaland, Twipraland, Dimaraji, Bundelkhand, Vidarbha, Harit Pradesh etc.
We are happy that more than 6 millions of active Boroland supporters around the country are watching with curiosity the latest development in New Delhi next week as the central leadership in the Congress will soon announce its decision to carve out a separate state of Telangana. PJACBM is happy to express that the creation of Telangana will open the door for creation of Boroland and other states as well one after another.
Meanwhile through this Press Release we would like to send this message to the government that we as PJACBM will not sit idle if the government of India sideline the creation of separate state of Boroland. PJACBM was temporarily suspending its democratic, peaceful and non-violent agitational programmes following its decision on its 1st Anniversary day on 31st March 2013 held at Panbari, Bijni in Chirang district only to facilitate the on-going peace negotiation with NDFB (P) for peaceful settlement of the 47 years long pending Boroland issue. Now, if the government of India tries to fool us, we will not sit idle but to resume it’s temporarily suspended mass movement with even much more vigorous unified and intensified movement for the Boroland state. PJACBM will never ever compromise on the Boroland issue and the government of Assam and the Government of India will be responsible for any untoward situation arisen out of that. PJACBM will work out its future agitational programmes and announce soon following its executive meeting shortly.
