Dear Friends,

We are delighted to invite you to the launch and Press conference for DocWok at the Max Mueller Bhavan in Delhi at 6 pm on Monday, 26 November 2012.

DocWok is a year-long tutoring and mentoring programme for films under production in India. This pioneering initiative brings together two institutions that work for documentary promotion: DOK-Leipzig (the oldest and one of the leading documentary festivals in the world) and Magic Lantern Movies (an imprint of Magic Lantern Foundation - that works to create public access to documentaries via archive and curation), to support and mentor documentary practice in India. DocWok will provide hands-on training, mentoring as well as support in marketing, distribution, screening and international exhibition, by eminent tutors and editors from Germany, UK and India.

DocWok is supported by Germany and India 2011-2012: Infinite Opportunities and the British Council.

The first phase of DocWok is a rough-cut workshop that is scheduled between 26 and 30 November 2012 in Delhi. The rough-cut workshop will mentor six documentary projects selected by the tutors.

The launch will introduce the programme and provide an opportunity to meet the tutors and the filmmakers and editors of the selected projects. A film selected by Claas Danielsen, director of the Leipzig Festival, will be screened, following which the floor will be opened to interaction with the Press.
