TiE-Lumis Partners Awards for Entrepreneurial Excellence
Indian Health Organisation, Simplilearn, Skanray announced 2012 winners

The New Delhi-NCR chapter of The Indus Entrepreneurs (TiE), the world’s largest body of entrepreneurs, in association with Lumis Partners, a PE (private equity) fund focused on business services companies, has chosen three Indian companies-Indian Health Organisation, Simplilearn, Skanray—for the TiE-Lumis Partners Excellence Awards 2012 from nearly 100 entrepreneurial companies set up less than five years ago.

The jury for the TiE Lumis awards included TiE Delhi-NCR Charter Members Equitigro Chairman Rohtash Mal; TiE Entrepreneurship Nurturing Program Chair Subinder Khurana; CyberMedia Chairman Pradeep Gupta and Managing Partner, Lumis Partners, Sandeep Sinha.

Congratulating winning entrepreneurs Sandeep Sinha, Managing Partner, Lumis Partners said, “It was a tough decision for the jury members--Rohtash, Pradeep and Subinder--to pick the winners from nearly a dozen short listed companies.”

“TiE and Lumis Partners will offer extensive support in the form of mentoring, networking and benchmarking to enable these companies to grow and service critical areas of skill development in IT and Healthcare,” he added.

The three TiE-Lumis Partners winners, in alphabetic order, are:

Indian Health Organisation, a Delhi-based healthcare card provider, that marries the need for reliable healthcare services with a focus on preventive health care by offering access to health check-ups, consultation, treatment and medicines.

IHO has enlisted thousands of credentialed medical specialists to build an accessible and affordable medical referral network in 23 cities in India. IHO's Preventive Healthcare plan offers services of premium hospitals, laboratories and other healthcare services at lower rates.

Indian Health Organisation founder Director Visham Sikand picked up the award.

Bangalore-based startup Simplilearn.com, that offers online education and training for professional certification programs was the other winner. The three-year old, Simplilearn.com has trained over 35,000 learners across 135 countries. It delivers training through a unique online and offline delivery platform in addition to conducting over 300 classroom training sessions each month.

Funding from IndoUS Venture Partners (IUVP) will enable it to double the number of programs over the next few years. Krishna Kumar, chief executive and founder of Simplilearn.com received the award.

Skanray, a Mysore based medical equipment manufacturing company, specializes in High Frequency X-ray imaging systems, critical care devices and primary healthcare and telemedicine compatible devices of international quality.

Skanray assures high performance at affordable prices to the rural population by combining the latest in technology with design simplicity and innovation for efficient patient care. Skanray products comply with international quality and safety standards.
Skanray MD Vishwaprasad Alva picked up the award.
