Slow Food, founded as a grassroots organization in Italy in 1989 has grown into a global movement involving millions of people across over 150 countries. Created to prevent the disappearance of local food cultures and to counteract the rise of fast life, Slow Food aims to engage people’s interest in the food they eat, its origin and how our choices affect the world, and ensures that everyone has access to good, clean and fair food. For fifteen years, Chef Fabio Antonini and his partner Laura Martini have run Pianeta Terra, a restaurant in the centre of Amsterdam that combines delicious organic food with innovative Italian cuisine. From the beginning, they were dedicated to using organic products for both health and ethical reasons. Committed to the values of Slow Food, Pianeta Terra is introducing a new approach to cuisine that works in total harmony with the cycles of Mother Earth.
