PM modi: Replace outdated and unsafe military equipment

15112014
Dear Naresh,
‘Friends of the Army’ feel old Army equipment has caused the death of several soldiers over the years. They are asking the Prime Minister of India to immediately replace outdated and unsafe military equipment, specially the Cheetah helicopters which killed three soldiers last month.

PM modi: Replace outdated and unsafe military equipment that endangers the lives of our soldiers

Friends of the Army
India
Bareilly: Three army officers were killed after their Cheetah helicopter crashed in Bareilly in Uttar Pradesh on Oct 1, 2014.
The accident took place at around 7.45 am, moments after the army helicopter took off from an army aviation base. Two pilots and an engineer were killed.
The helicopter was reportedly on a testing flight. Just two minutes after take-off, it reportedly caught fire and crashed.
The army has been trying to get replacements for its 40-year-old Cheetahs but has failed because of corruption scandals and bureaucratic delays.
This is not an isolated incident – technical snags in these Cheetah helicopters are common and there is one major crash every year where precious lives are lost (Guwhati and Leh being the most recent ones).
The people of India salute Army personell for their efforts in the face of any disaster, be it terrorist attacks or floods, but the time has come to actually do something for them. Please support this petition to urge the government to do away with these outdated and unsafe equipment that endangers the lives of our armymen.

Six Crore Aadhaar Issued in Uttar Pradesh So Far

15112014
Over 6 crore Aadhaar numbers have been generated in Uttar Pradesh by the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI), so far, out of a total population of 19.98 crore (as per Census 2011). The State was among the four (4) new States allocated to UIDAI for Aadhaar enrolments earlier this year. Currently more than 2.5 lakh residents are enrolled per day in Uttar Pradesh through 5,781 active enrolment stations deployed in 71 districts of the State. The pace of enrolments will further accelerate with engagement of Enrolment Agencies by the State Registrar.
The UIDAI has, till date, issued over 70.7 crore Aadhaar numbers. Nine States/UTs including Andhra Pradesh, Kerala, Delhi and Himachal Pradesh have crossed 90 percent Aadhaar coverage, while a further seven States/UTs have Aadhaar coverage of between 70 and 90 percent.
The 6 crore Aadhaar number holders of Uttar Pradesh can now avail many services with their Aadhaars such as opening a Bank account, obtaining a SIM card, a PAN card, an LPG connection etc. More services are likely to be available on Aadhaar in the coming days.
Aadhaar facilitates “anytime, anywhere” online authentication of a resident through universal verification of one’s identity based on the demographic and biometric information of an individual, thereby eliminating any chance of duplication or fraud.

M.Venkaiah Naidu unveils Bronze Statue of Sardar Patel

15112014
Parliamentary Affairs Ministers Shri M.Venkaiah Naidu has said that Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel rendered yeomen contribution to the freedom struggle of the Country and for its unification after Independence, but justice was not done to Sardar Patel during his life time and even later. Shri Naidu was speaking after inaugurating a large size bronze statue of Sardar Patel at Nellore in Andhra Pradesh this morning.
Giving an account of SardarPatel’s eminence and his contributions, Shri Naidu said, being an ardent follower of Mahatma Gandhi, despite huge following and support in the Congress Party, Sardar Patel agreed to work under the leadership of Pandit Jawaharalal Nehru, as per the wishes of Gandhiji and this was a great sacrifice in the national interest. Shri Naidu said, Patel who was an eminent barrister gave up his practice to join freedom struggle and became Sardar after leading the peasant movement at Bardoli.
‘With the interests of the nation uppermost in his mind, Sardar Patel who emerged as an eminent leader in his own right, worked with Pandit Nehru for over 30 years, under the leadership of Gandhi ji. His contribution as the Home Minister to the unification of the country and putting in place well organized civil services were evidence of his great vision and capacity to act decisively in testing times. However, Sardar Patel was denied justice during his life time and even after his death. Sardar Patel was honoured with Bharat Ratna, 41 years after his death, while it could have been much earlier.’ Said Shri Venkaiah Naidu.
Shri Naidu observed that several great leaders made significant contributions to the freedom struggle and after, and all of them should be regarded equally and their legacies should be promoted without any discrimination.
Minister of Municipal Administration Dr.P.Narayana and Minister of Health and Medical Education Dr.K.Srinivas of the Andhra Pradesh Government also attended the unveiling programme. Mayor of Nellore Shri Abdul Aziz presided over the function.

Sanjay Kumar two shots clear on penultimate day, emerges firm favourite for title
Prabagaran, Mukesh occupy second and third places to stay in the hunt
Shillong, Meghalaya, November 14, 2014: Lucknow golfer Sanjay Kumar’s bogey-free 67 in round three ensured he stayed two shots clear of the rest of the field at the Rs. 40 lakh Chief Minister’s Meghalaya Open Golf 2014. Sanjay’s three-day total stands at 11-under-199 at the richest tournament to be staged in North-East India. Sri Lankan K Prabagaran and Mukesh Kumar of Mhow stayed in the hunt as they occupied second and third places at nine-under-201 and eight-under-202 respectively.

Sanjay Kumar (66-66-67), the overnight leader, continued his surge on day three at the Shillong Golf Course with an error-free three-under-67. The 43-year-old was off to a brilliant start on Friday as he sank a 15-footer to gain a stroke on the first hole. He consolidated his lead with another eight feet birdie conversion on the fifth. The ice cool golfer produced an immaculate approach shot on the 11th that led to a tap-in birdie. Sanjay was steady for the rest of the day and never looked in danger of dropping a shot.

Sanjay, looking for his first win on the PGTI in three years, said, “I feel I’ve adapted well to this course. I’ve planned my round well on the first three days. I just need to continue doing the same on the last day in order to have a shot at the title.

“I had a good start today with long birdie conversions on the first and fifth and set the tone for the rest of the round. I’ve not won on the PGTI for a long time now and so there is a burning desire to get a title under my belt. I think my strength is that I never put too much pressure on myself and always stay calm on the course no matter what the situation is,” added Sanjay.

K Prabagaran (67-67-67), a winner on the PGTI in 2014, shot a third consecutive 67 to keep himself in the hunt. Prabagaran held on to his overnight second position after capping another solid round with five birdies and two bogeys.

Prabagaran said, “My short-game shaped up really well on day three. I played just two poor shots on the back-nine that cost me bogeys. I’ll go into the final round with a lot of self-belief as I have a title against my name this year. Keeping the errors out of the game will be crucial in the final round.”

Mukesh Kumar (64-72-66), who shot an ordinary 72 on day two, made a strong comeback on Friday as he posted an eventful 66 to climb from overnight tied fourth to third position. The experienced Mukesh, who mixed six birdies with two bogeys in round three, will also be a strong contender for the title on the final day. The Mhow golfer landed it within a couple of feet for birdies on the fourth and eighth and sank two long birdie putts on the ninth and 16th.

Kolkata golfers Shankar Das and Mohammad Sanju lie tied fourth at six-under-204 while Om Prakash Chouhan of Mhow and Sri Lankan N Thangaraja are a further shot back in joint sixth place.

Delhi’s Manav Jaini shot the day’s best score of five-under-65 to be tied 14th at one-under-209.

Modi Can Commit 75% GHG Cut By 2030 At G-20 – Lead The World

15112014
Prime Minister Narendra Modi can offer 75% Cut in GHG Emissions by
2030, Technologies are available which are Most Economical too.
India Can Cut 75% GHG, 3 Billion Tones GHG Yearly By 2030
India’s Energy Policy is loaded entirely in favor of Costliest and
Most Polluting Coal based power. Even the latest Super Critical
Thermal Plants are not effective mainly because such units are located
in hot regions, high ambient air and circulating water temperature and
shortage of water adds up to much lower thermal efficiency and in
addition there are substantial Transmission & Distribution losses. Use
of low quality coal releases around 200 million tones of Fly Ash at
power stations, partly in air also.
Business As Usual situation India may consume 2000 million tone of
Coal every year producing over 800 million tones of Fly Ash at power
stations including 160 million tones released in air by 2030.
Thus Indian power is Costliest and Most Polluting due to extensive use
of thermal coal for power generation.
Green Energy Programs to Avoid 3.0 Billion Tones of CO2 by 2030 are: -
1.]  India should be developing 200,000 MW of Multipurpose Hydro
Power+, producing 800m Units of Electricity and avoiding 0.8 Billion
Tones of CO2 every year and around 40 tones of Fly Ash emissions in
air.
+ Additionally Prevent or Moderate Floods in 40 million hectares of
flood affected land and supply 500 BCM of addition Clean Blue Water
for Irrigation, Municipal other uses, reduce water pumping for
irrigation etc.
2.]  100,000 MWe of Nuclear Power shall produce around 750 BU of green
electricity avoiding 750 million tones of CO2.
3.]  200,000 MWp Solar Power with Tracking shall generate 450 BU of
green electricity to be ready by 2020.
4.]  Energy Efficiency 500 BU Annually by 2030 avoiding 500 million
tones of CO2 every year.
5.]  Wind, Biomass, Tidal, Bio-Fuels together shall produce 200 BU of
electricity or 200m avoid Tones of CO2.
6.]  Electric Transport like Railways, Electric Vehicles, Trams etc
shall avoid 300m of CO2 in replacing petroleum.  `
All these programs are Commercially Viable and produce Cheaper
Electricity than by polluting Coal Based power require just $2.5
Trillion investments including T&D. India to Lead The World in Saving
Planet Earth From Impact Of GHG/ Climate Change.
