UPA2 allow FDI in multi-brand retail face backlash

Dr. Murli Manohar Joshi has submitted a notice of Adjournment Motion on behalf of BJP.Other opposition parties have also moved such motions.
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister and Bahujan Samaj Party supremo, Mayawati has said that FDI in retail sector would adversely effect small traders and farmers. Addressing a rally in Lucknow, she said that her government will not allow foreign malls in the state as it would force local traders to shut their shop. She accused the UPA government of step motherly treatment with the Uttar Pradesh government.

Trinamool Congress and Congress coalition government in Kolkata, Mamata Banerjee on Sunday (November 27) said that her party does not support the 51 per cent Foreign Direct investment.
Formidable  political backlash on decision of the UPA2 to allow FDI in multi-brand retail the traders' associations are for a nation-wide bandh next week and opposition parties  BJP, JD(U), AIADMK, BSP,Left along with Congress allies like DMK opposing the move in Upper house and Trinamool Congress opposing the move.
