Gunman at German cinema complex

German media reports at least 20 people have been injured in the attack at the Kinopolis complex in Viernheim, near Frankfurt.Further add  the gunman is inside the complex and surrounded by armed police, who have sealed off the area. Is  he  alone or if he has taken hostages.story on build up stage.
An armed man has been killed after opening fire at a cinema complex in western Germany, according to German media. Up to 50 people were wounded in the shooting.
The German Interior Ministry confirmed that the man was shot in the town of Viernheim, according to local media.

Adding to the host of luminaries taking the #AsliPanga for Season 4 are Rana Daggubati, Puneeth Rajkumar and Diljit Dosanjh, who have been signed as brand ambassadors of Season 4 of Star Sports Pro Kabaddi that commences on June 25th in Mumbai.
Rana Daggubati is not only a sensation in the South, particularly the Telugu film industry, but is also a popular face in Bollywood thanks to a spate of hit films in the past five years. He is known for his role in Bahubali and has been associated with Star Sports Pro Kabaddi since the last season. Puneeth Rajkumar is a Kanadda film power star, playback singer and television presenter. Diljit Dosanjh, a singer, actor and television presenter from Punjabi music industry is the latest B-Town sensation with his much talked about movie ‘Udta Punjab’.
With less than 48 hours to go for the fourth edition of the Star Sports Pro Kabaddi a Star India spokesperson said, “The first three seasons of the league saw an overwhelming response from TV viewers, stadium spectators and sports enthusiasts. There is a growing passion for the sport and this success helps us in our goal of encouraging sporting talent and nurturing heroes. Our brand ambassadors Rana Daggubati, Puneeth Rajkumar and Diljit Dosanjh lend their bold, powerful image to Star Sports Pro Kabaddi and re-iterate the spirit of Kabaddi. Bibek Debroy on NITI Aayog at Policy BootCamp

Thursday, 23 June 2016 Vision India Foundation unveiled UberDIALOGUES today as part of its flagship program-Policy BootCamp in the presence of Sh. Maheish Girri, Dr. Bibek Debroy, Sh. Jayesh Ranjan and Sh. Zoravar Gill. The event comes in the mid of 3 week, immersive residential program where the young minds from the country and the world are engaged in developing a panoramic understanding of ‘Nation Building’. The audience was thrilled by the presence of Dr. Bibek Debroy, Permanent Member of the NITI Aayog who began his address by focussing on the mandate of NITI Aayog. Drawing a distinction between the functioning of Planning Commission and the NITI Aayog, Dr. Debroy said-“Rare is the time when the members of NITI Aayog are found in Delhi and rare was the occasion when the members of the Planning Commission were found in the States where they were supposed to stay.” In response to a question regarding the lack of public intellectuals in the ideological right, Dr. Debroy said-“I find it very difficult to react to words-the mean of which I do not understand. This situation has a lot more to do with the bias prevalent in academia which was dominated by the left.” Then the day went ahead with Sh. Maheish Girri, Lok Sabha Member from East Delhi who began his address on a light note explaining the busy life of a politician. He shared his life journey since his childhood and his venture into the spiritual space. He also delved a little bit into his role as a social reformer and how he spearheaded programmes like-“Laadli”, “Adarsh Gram” and his role as the principle architect of “Meri Delhi Meri Yamuna” Campaign. He also shared his instrumental role in the India Against Corruption movement. Sh. Giri journey of the Corruption Movement and how it was shaped under the leadership of Sh. Maheish Giri. 106 cities, the launch of India Against Corruption. Building upon the popular movement and the surge in the mass popularity that he had amassed, he ventured into politics in October, 2013. He emphasized his focus on raising citizen awareness and his own personal journey of making the Girri-Chaupal work by enhancing his understanding of the Constitutional provisions and the manner in which he made the bureaucracy accountable by asserting his right to exercise the powers of a parliamentarian. Earlier, the day began with an address by Sh. Jayesh Ranjan, Secretary, Information Technology (IT), Government of Telangana on the Development Model of Telangana. “Community Empowerment through Social Mobility was the principle reason behin the success of the erstwhile state of Andhra Pradesh in poverty alleviation. Like the last edition, Policy BootCamp 2016 has been hosting high-impact leaders like parliamentarians, social reformers and subject experts, who share their knowledge and insights with the aspiring minds of today. The program focuses on making an impact through panel discussions, focused debates, field visits, case studies, creative ideation sessions and designing of innovative implementation models. UN Women and Government of Odisha to promote Gender Responsive Governance

Bhubaneswar, 23 June: The Panchayati Raj Department, Government of Odisha and the United Nations Entity of Gender Equality and the Empowerment of Women (UN Women) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) today to strengthen capacities of governance institutions to ensure gender concerns are embedded in the design and implementation of legislation, policies, and programmes.Two pilot districts – Dhenkanal and Mayurbhanj – have been selected for the project. It will cover 34 blocks and 580 Gram Panchayats. The project will lead to better outcomes for women, resulting from improved access to their rights and entitlements through Panchayati Raj Institutions (PRIs).
The State Institute for Rural Development and Panchayati Raj, Odisha will be the implementing agency for the project.
“Through the 14th Finance Commission, the Government of India has made sufficient resources available. However there are critical gaps which we need to address, and here UN Women can play a critical role,” said Dr. Arun Kumar Sahoo, Minister of State, Panchayati Raj, Law, during the signing. “Villages can only become model villages when we are able to address the critical gender gaps and ensure women’s equitable participation in governance processes,” he added.
“UN Women is delighted to partner with the Government of Odisha in this important initiative and will provide technical knowledge and resources to support the State Institute of Rural Development and Panchayat Raj,” said Dr. Rebecca Reichmann Tavares, Representative, UN Women Office for India, Bhutan, Maldives and Sri Lanka.
The project will be implemented in the states of Rajasthan, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Madhya Pradesh, Karnataka, and Odisha.

Colombian,FARC rebels announce ceasefire deal

The Colombian government and Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia (FARC) rebels have announced that they have reached a deal on a bilateral ceasefire, the Guardian reports. The statement is seen as the last major step toward ending the conflict that has killed more than 220,000 people and displaced millions since 1964. President Juan Manuel Santos will travel to Cuba on Thursday for the announcement with FARC. The sides in January tasked the UN with monitoring adherence to an eventual ceasefire and resolving disputes emerging from the expected demobilization of at least 7,000 armed rebels.

Norway’s parliament approves sending troops to Syria

Norwegian lawmakers have given consent to sending troops to join coalition forces in Syria in the international struggle against Islamic State (IS, formerly ISIS/ISIL) militants. According to the approved government plans, a contingent of some 60 Norwegian soldiers will provide training, advice and operational support for Syrian groups fighting the radical Islamists in the country. Earlier plans only included helping such Syrian forces outside Syrian territory. The Norwegian troops will be deployed later during the summer and will be based in Jordan. (AP)

Turkey blocking German official’s visit to Incirlik base

Turkey is blocking the plans of a senior German defense official to visit Incirlik air base in July, a spokesman for the German Defense Ministry said on Wednesday, in a sign of increasingly tense relations between the two NATO allies. Germany has about 250 soldiers stationed at the base in southern Turkey, along with six Tornado reconnaissance jets and a refueling plane, all of which are participating in a US-led air campaign against Islamic State (IS, formerly ISIS/ISIL) militants in Iraq and Syria.“Turkish officials do not currently approve of the travel plans,”a ministry spokesman said, confirming a report published by the website of the German magazine Spiegel. Ralf Brauksiepe, a deputy to German Defense Minister Ursula von der Leyen, had planned to visit the Incirlik military air base along with some German lawmakers next month.
