2 killed in helicopter crash in Leningrad region
A private Eurocopter AF-350, tail number RA-259, crashed into Lake Sukhodolskoye in the Priozersk district of Russia’s Leningrad region on Saturday morning, some 20 meters from the shore. EMERCOM divers have recovered the bodies of the pilot and passenger, according to reports by a representative of the regional emergency department.
“Our divers lifted the bodies of the two diseased to the surface. Investigating authorities have now taken control of the scene of the incident,” the representative was quoted as saying by RIA News agency. Both crash victims are male and an investigation has been launched to determine the cause of the crash, according to the Transport Investigative Committee.
