Sisi will not interfere with judicial verdicts,

Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi has said that he will not interfere with judicial verdicts, following an international outcry over lengthy prison sentences given to three Al Jazeera journalists on Monday.Sisi said Egypt’s authorities would respect the independence of the judiciary.
“We will not interfere in judicial rulings,” Sisi said in a televised speech on Tuesday at a military graduation ceremony.
“We must respect judicial rulings and not criticise them even if others do not understand this.”
The guilty verdicts were announced by a Cairo judge against Peter Greste, Mohamed Fahmy, and Baher Mohamed.
Greste and Fahmy were sentenced to seven years in prison, while Baher Mohamed was sentenced to an additional three years for possession of ammunition. Mohamed was in possession of a spent bullet casing he had found on the ground during a protest.
Other Al Jazeera journalists who were tried in absentia, including Sue Turton and Dominic Kane, were sentenced to 10 years.
Delhi university VC resigns over raging 4-year course row :

Delhi university VC Dinesh Singh has resigned over the four-year under-graduate course row. Admissions to the Delhi University were to start today, but colleges have held their cut-off list. UGC has ordered colleges to stop admitting students under the four-year programme, which was introduced despite strong opposition from teachers and student bodies. The university’s Vice Chancellor Dinesh Singh, was yet to respond to the directive to end the four-year system, this morning. Singh’s defiance may provoke the UGC to take legal action to remove him and his resignation is being seen as a preemptive measure. Dr Inder Kapahi, National Democratic Teachers Foundation (NDTF) on DU VC says the resignation is not enough, we want an inquiry into his term.15:18 Delhi University Teachers Association president Nandita Narain says the VC was forced to resign.

DU colleges defer admission process following UGC directive to scrap FYUP

The controversy over admission process in Delhi University is not dying down as a group of University teachers in favour of the four-year undergraduate programme, FYUP, today went on a 24-hour long hunger strike.
They are protesting against the University Grants Commission UGC’s order for the roll back of FYUP. The teachers, under the aegis of Academics for Action and Development alleged that the UGC’s directive to DU was an assault on its autonomy.
Meanwhile, future of more than two lakh applicants for graduation programme of Delhi University hangs in balance as it has put its admissions process on hold. Admissions were scheduled to start today but because of the row over the controversial four-year undergraduate programme of the University, admission has been deferred.
After an emergency meeting of the Principals Association of the University last evening, its president S K Garg announced that they decided to defer the admission process.
The Association in a resolution passed had said that 36 colleges have decided not to release cut-off list until the issue is resolved. He had said, the remaining college principals have been informed about the decision. Mr Garg said, the decision was taken in the interest of the students, parents and colleges.
Yesterday, the University Grants Commission had asked Delhi University and all its 64 colleges to comply with its order or face consequences such as freezing of grants. The University had forwarded copy of UGC letters to all its colleges. The UGC in its orders had asked colleges to conduct the admissions under three-year programme and not the four-year undergraduate programme.

Last dangerous chemicals shipped from Syria

Last of Syria´s declared chemical agents have been shipped from the war-torn country after months of delays and are en route for destruction at sea, the world´s chemical watchdog said.
United Nations Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon welcomed the news Monday and said the successful completion of such a tricky exercise showed that, when there was the political will, “there can be progress towards peace”.
Speaking in New York, he praised several countries for their role, including China, Russia, Britain and the United States as well as Syria itself
.”As we speak, the ship (carrying the last chemicals) has just left the port (of Latakia),” Ahmet Uzumcu, head of the Organisation for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons, told journalists Monday in The Hague, where the OPCW is based.
“Removing the stockpile of precursor and other chemicals has been a fundamental condition in the programme to eliminate Syria´s chemical weapons,” Uzumcu said.
The Dutch head of the joint OPCW-UN mission, Sigrid Kaag, hailed the end of “the most operationally challenging task” in the international efforts to destroy Damascus´ chemical arsenal.
Syria had previously shipped out 92 percent of its stockpile of chemical weapons under the terms of a UN-backed and US-Russia brokered agreement to head off Western air strikes against the regime last year.
But Damascus delayed shipping the remaining eight percent of the stockpile from another site, citing security concerns over transporting it to the port of Latakia.
“While a major chapter in our endeavours closes today, OPCW´s work in Syria will continue,” Uzumcu said.
“We hope to conclude soon the clarification of certain aspects of the Syrian declaration and commence the destruction of certain structures that were used as chemical-weapons production facilities.”
The Syrian foreign ministry confirmed in a statement that “the final cargo of chemical agents has today been taken outside Syrian territory”.
The ministry hailed the success of the mission and called on the international community to pressure Syria´s arch-foe Israel to sign up to international agreements on weapons of mass destruction.
Russia´s foreign minister, meanwhile, voiced “deep satisfaction” at what it hailed as “the successful end of a large-scale and unprecedented international operation”.
Kaag said technical experts from The Hague, the joint mission and the Syrian authorities would continue to investigate “the completeness of Syria´s initial declaration to the OPCW”.
“The most important thing is that the materials are out. They will be destroyed safely and securely… out of harm´s way, and they can also no longer fall into the wrong hands,” Kaag told. Media agencies
RBI asks banks, FIs to give information to SIT on black money

The Reserve Bank of India on Monday directed all banks and financial institutions to provide information and documents sought by the Special Investigation Team (SIT) set up to unearth black money.
“All the banks and financial institutions (FIs) are advised to ensure that information/documents required by the SIT are made available as and when required,” the Reserve Bank said in a notification on Monday.
The SIT under the chairmanship of former Justice M B Shah was constituted by the Narendra Modi-led government on its first day in office, in pursuance of a July 2011 Supreme Court judgement.
The panel has jurisdiction in cases where investigations have commenced or are waiting to be initiated or have been completed.
The SIT held its first meeting on 2nd June.
India to seek expeditious sharing of bank info from Swiss govt
Seeking to expedite information sharing from the European nation, Finance Minister Arun Jaitley on Monday said the government will write to Switzerland seeking details of Indians having unaccounted money in Swiss banks.
The Minister’s remark comes a day after a Swiss government official told PTI that names of certain persons and entities, who have come under scanner of Swiss authorities, is being shared with India.
Jaitley said his Ministry is yet to receive official communication in this regard.
“We are today writing ourselves to the Swiss authorities with whom the Ministry has been in touch so that details with regard to whatever information the authorities have can be expedited and the cooperation between the Swiss authorities and the government of India can bring fruitful results. Our communication will be sent today itself,” Jaitley said in New Delhi on Monday.
He was referring to the issue of Indians allegedly stashing unaccounted money in Swiss banks.
“News has appeared in various sections of the media quoting Swiss authorities that they are willing to actively cooperate with the government of India in giving details about Indians who hold bank accounts in the Swiss banking system,” he said.
According to the latest data published by Switzerland’s central bank SNB, Indian money in various Swiss banks rose by 43 percent during 2013 to close to Rs 14,000 crore, including the money held directly by Indian clients and those through fiduciaries or wealth managers.
Switzerland on Monday said it is looking forward to working together with the new government of India in its fight against tax evasion, according to a statement issued through the Swiss Embassy in New Delhi.

Amid high drama, a Canada- based divisive cleric returned to Pakistan on Monday to lead a “revolution” against the government, but his Islamabad-bound flight was diverted to Lahore amid fears of unrest in the capital as his supporters fought pitched battles with police, leaving over 70 security personnel injured.

Tahir-ul-Qadri, the 63-year-old cleric who drew tens of thousands of supporters for a sit-in protest here in January last year demanding electoral reforms, refused to come out of the plane in Lahore saying the aircraft should be taken to its original destination or the army take him in its protective custody.
Emirates Airline flight EK-612 carrying Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) chief Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri has landed at the main terminal of Allama Iqbal International Airport, Lahore on Monday morning after being diverted from Islamabad.
According to media reports, Dr Qadri has refused to leave the plane as the authorities took him to Lahore instead of Islamabad.
Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) earlier told that the flight EK-612 of Emirates Airline carrying Dr Qadri was diverted to Lahore who was arriving from Dubai and landed at 9:35 am at the main terminal of Lahore airport.
The authority further told that other passengers will be flown to Islamabad after Dr Qadri is escorted at the Lahore airport.
On the other hand, a temporary helipad has been prepared at the Minhaj ul Quran Secretariat for the helicopter that will safely carry PAT chief to the secretariat.
Strict security measures were witnessed at the Lahore airport before Dr Qadri’s arrival.
Earlier, a larger number of PAT workers crossed all barriers to reach the Benazir International Airport to welcome their chief Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri who was expected to land in the federal capital earlier.
Dr Qadri’s supporters clashed with police and chanted slogans against the government as law enforcers tried to prevent them from reaching the airport. The police baton charged the supporters and resorted to using tear gas to disperse the crowd near Faizabad.
Following clashes with supporters, the police finally had to retreat after enraged activists pelted them with stones. Dozens of policemen were injured in the clashes, hospital sources told.
The protesters carrying banners and flags of the Pakistan Awami Tehreek, defying section 144 imposed by the government in the wake of the Qadris’ arrival continued their march to the airport.
But later he came out of the Emirates plane after successful talks with Punjab Governor Chaudhry Muhammad Sarwar inside the aircraft. “I am leaving the plane on the assurance of Chaudhry Sarwar who is my friend. He will accompany me to the hospital where my injured workers are being treated and my residence as a guarantee for my protection,” he said.
Qadri along with his supporters then left the airport for Jinnah Hospital where over 50 of them are being treated after clashes with police last week.
The thaw in the standoff came after government refused to involve army for negotiations as Qadri had demanded.
Many supporters of Qadri’s Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) were present outside the airport in Lahore.
Qadri, who has dual nationality, has come back from Canada to lead what he called a “revolution” against the Nawaz Sharif-led government.
A spokesman for Qadri said he wanted to stage an Arab spring-style revolt and install a government that would enforce reform, tackle terrorism and improve accountability.
Qadri, a religiously moderate cleric who served as a lawmaker under former military ruler General Pervez Musharraf, has a substantial following in Pakistan.
There is widespread speculation in Pakistan that Qadri is being encouraged by Pakistan’s powerful military, following recent tensions with the Prime Minister.
Today, police sealed off roads to Islamabad airport but some of the cleric’s supporters – chanting “Islamic revolution” and “long live the army” – managed to break through the security cordon.
Television footage showed Qadri followers armed with sticks and stones fighting running battles with police wielding batons.
Over 70 police personnel were injured when PAT workers pelted stones at them near the airport in Islamabad, Radio Pakistan reported.

Oil prices fall on easing Iraq supply fears

Oil prices extended losses in Asia Tuesday on fading fears that the fast-moving crisis in crude producer Iraq could result in a major supply disruption, analysts said.US benchmark West Texas Intermediate (WTI) was down 47 cents at $105.70 while Brent crude eased 19 cents to $113.93 in mid-morning trade. WTI dropped 66 cents in New York and Brent fell 69 cents in London, after nearly two weeks of gains that pushed prices to nine-month highs last week.
“Oil slipped as Iraq´s oil production continued to be untouched by ongoing violence in the country,” Singapore´s United Overseas Bank said in a note to investors.
Desmond Chua, market analyst at CMC Markets in Singapore, said the price fall indicated the onset of a “period of consolidation as the majority of the geopolitical premium has been priced in”.
Insurgents have captured swathes of Iraqi territory in a lightning offensive toward Baghdad from the north and west of the country. They have however yet to directly threaten the key oil-producing region in the south.
US Secretary of State John Kerry on Monday pledged “intense” support for Iraq against the “existential threat” posed by the militants. The violence in Iraq has a direct bearing on global crude prices because the country is the second-biggest oil exporter in the 12-nation Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) after Saudi Arabia.
It has more than 11 percent of the world´s proved resources and produces 3.4 million barrels a day. Analysts said markets are also digesting a survey Monday showing Chinese manufacturing growing in June for the first time this year, raising hopes for the economy.
China is the world´s top energy consumer, and is second to the United States in terms of crude oil consumption.

Guj CM announces 33 pc reservation for women in police force

Gujarat’s first woman Chief Minister Anandi Patel on Tuesday announced a 33 per cent reservation for women in the state police force.
“It is necessary to empower women for their up-liftment in society. Thus, my government has decided to provide 33 per cent reservation to women in the police recruitments,” announced Patel without elaborating.She was interacting with media after attending the passing out parade of 97 armed Police Sub Inspectors (PSIs) and 39 Intelligence Officers (IOs) having PSI cadre, at Gujarat Police Academy in Karai, Gandhinagar on Tuesday.
These officers will now be inducted in police force after completing their 9-month training at the Karai based Academy.
Among these 136 officers, 25 were women, including 10 PSIs and 15 IOs. During her speech as the chief guest, Patel claimed that Gujarat is having the lowest crime rate in the country.
“Peace and communal harmony is essential to bring development. Gujarat never saw any major communal clash in last 10 years, which helped us to bring development here. Gujarat is the safest state in India having lowest crime rate” said Patel, who thanked Gujarat police for such environment.
“Gujarat police force is the most educated force in India having more than 26,000 educated policemen serving people. I thank the police force for having maintained law and order for these many years and contributing to the development process of the state,” said Patel, who also remembered Narendra Modi for showing the path.
“Our Prime Minister Narendra Modi stressed on strengthening ‘Raksha Shakti’(Defence Power) of the state. Thus, we are now having three dedicated universities working in that direction, including Raksha Shakti University, Forensic Science University and Law university,” said Patel.
“This Academy also proved crucial in providing training to policemen. Till now, 952 policemen, from constables to IPS officers, took training from here. Recently, Goa government has sent 87 of their newly recruited PSIs to take training here,” added Patel in Gandhinagar on Tuesday.

RECIFE: Veteran Mexico captain Rafael Marquez helped set up a last-16 clash against the Netherlands by finishing second in Group A after Monday´s 3-1 win over ten-man Croatia, who exited the World Cup.
Mexico needed just to avoid defeat in Recife to take their place in the knockout phase, but three goals in ten second-half minutes killed off Croatia´s hopes.
The Mexicans needed more than an hour to break the deadlock at the Arena Pernambuco before the floodgates finally burst.
Marquez scored with a header on 72 minutes before Andres Guarado grabbed Mexico´s second and substitute Javier Hernandez netted a third in quick succession to book their Dutch showdown at 1300 local time (1600GMT) on Sunday in Fortaleza.
Ivan Perisic grabbed a late consolation for the Croats before replacement forward Ante Rebic was sent off just before the final whistle.
Croatia bow out by finishing third in the group after their opening 3-1 defeat to Brazil and 4-0 trouncing of Cameroon, while Mexico finish second in the table to Brazil on goal difference.
Coach Niko Kovac had recalled defender Sime Vrsaljko for Croatia, with left-back Danijel Pranjic pushing up into midfield, but it was a move that ultimately didn´t pay off.

Stuttering Brazil will look to clinch their berth in the last 16 of the World Cup as they host already-eliminated Cameroon in their final Group A match at the National Stadium in the capital Brasilia on Monday.
Luiz Felipe Scolari’s side have beaten Croatia and drawn with Mexico in their two games to date, struggling to convince in either match, but both the coach and his players have claimed in recent days that the World Cup hosts are “evolving” as the tournament goes along.Brazil head into their final group game their 100th at the World Cup still not certain of a place in the knockout rounds, but goalkeeper Julio Cesar insisted during the week that the quality of opposition they have come up against so far has helped the Selecao. “This is a tough group, but that’s great for us. We prefer to play against these sides and face these difficulties because it gets you focusing right from the start, which is important in short-term competitions,” he said.
The pressure on Brazil to do well at these finals is enormous, but Scolari’s team need not panic about their situation in the group. They lead the group on goal difference from Mexico, and a draw will be enough to take them through to a second-round clash with either Chile or the Netherlands. Indeed, they would still progress even in defeat, as long as Mexico beat Croatia in the group’s other game, due to be played at the same time in Recife. In any case, the prospect of Brazil losing to a Cameroon side in complete disarray seems slim in the extreme.
Volker Finke’s men have already failed in their attempts to become the first Cameroon team to advance from their group since 1990, and their campaign has been beset by trouble since the very beginning. A row over bonuses overshadowed their build-up to the finals, and they became one of the first teams to be eliminated after following up a 1-0 defeat to Mexico by losing 4-0 to Croatia in Manaus last Wednesday.

Shiv Sena and BJP MPs from Maharashtra met Railway Minister Sadananda Gowda in New Delhi on Tuesday morning on the increased passenger fares and freight charges.
There is a growing dissent within the NDA on the steep hike in rail fares as well as improvement of rail amenities.After the meeting, BJP MP Kirit Somaiya said that the Railway Minister assured them that feelings of Mumbaikars will be considered.
BJP MP Kirit Somaiya said Gowda assured them of a “positive” decision on their demand and added an announcement to this effect could be made in a few days.
The recent hike in rail fares has led to a steep increase in the prices of monthly passes for Mumbai local trains.
They see the heaviest rush among all suburban rail networks and are a lifeline of Maharashtra capital and India’s commercial hub.
The MPs told that people in their area were deeply upset about the rise in monthly fares and Gowda “agreed” with them that the hike of over 150 per cent in some cases was not good.
“The Minister said Railway Board officials will meet soon and a relief will be announced,” another BJP MP Kapil Patil said.
The state is going to polls later this year and the leaders of BJP-Shiv Sena alliance do not want the hike to spoil their chances of winning the polls.
Shiv Sena Chief Uddhav Thackeray has publicly flayed the decision and demanded a rollback.
Somiaya said Gowda has also assured them that more facilities will be provided to suburban travellers and security will be enhanced.
Railway Minister increased passenger fares by 14 per cent and freight charges by 6.5 per cent.

Concept Note:
In 1900 Lord Curzon was the Viceroy of the British Empire in India and illusions of permanence, as Francis Hutchins noted, reigned in the imperial imagination. The Indian freedom struggle was still in its early stages, and admittedly, a tepid version of the broader, and often violent, social movements that would emerge as part of the anti-colonial struggle in the aftermath of the First World War. By 2000, India, like the rest of the world, has become a very different place, the nation debating and developing narratives that would keep its constituents together while ensuring the promise of pluralism enshrined in its Constitution. Scholarly undertakings that for a long time primarily engaged with the anti-colonial struggle have now recognised the pertinence and importance of the ‘long’ twentieth century, taking the longer perspective to understand historical as well as today’s socio-cultural, political and economic problems. Historians and histories of this period are engaging with India’s transition from colony or part of the imperium to a nation-state, and its historiography is addressing India’s complex engagements with new forms of empire and the legacies of earlier periods. This conference will discuss these shifts in historical and social scientific inquiry through the broad rubric of the ‘legacies of empire and beyond’. In so doing, it moves away from a narrow focus on the anti-colonial struggle and its major epochal figures. Instead, it will highlight and problematize equally important and often new fields of research, scholarship and debate that interrogate our social, cultural, economic, and gendered lives. Simultaneously, the papers will engage with the conceptual and methodological issues challenging and shaping scholarly interventions, the terrains of debate and the reproduction of knowledge. The conference will bring together historians, social scientists, and public intellectuals, who have thought innovatively about the twentieth century, and the manner in which our more recent past impinges upon our present, through original research, creative analysis and questions.
Over three days the participants will deliberate on what the Indian twentieth century tells us about its variety of histories, and equally importantly, their production and representation. Through themes such as ‘religion, gender and identities’, ‘caste and its manifestations’, ‘the grids of empire’, and ‘archives and historiography’, the conference will track the related histories of empire and the nation-state, and our quotidian lives, and also what makes for history-writing. It will investigate the complex genealogies of religiosity and religious identity, political and social thought, and social exclusion and marginalisation of important groups like women and dalits to name a few . The two round table discussions will revolve around the growth and robustness of important fields like economic history, and ‘contemporary history’. We hope to take cognisance of how such social and historical analyses are shaped by the problems and challenges of a largely young country encountering technological revolutions, the new media, growing economic prosperity, and new opportunities as well as exacerbated social and economic disparities that the long Indian twentieth century brought in its wake.

No saint has been in any religion such status which is enjoyed by this gimmick religioius outlook. How the marketing was done with this false religion.In early eighties the marketers of this sect started distributing picture of the Shiridi Saibabapreadinga when there was another Saibabapreadinga popular on whose popularity this Shirdi Baba was marketed as the then Guru.
Without any proper philosophy the Gurudom practiced all around India for the sake of money and buildi empire of religious sort came into existence with free meal their forte. To respect Guru is not improper but to rate the Sant which has not been able to give any substantial wisdom or any religious science to get connected to God this trust like sect gained popularity for people ignorance and people started visiting the trust place and spreading many unscientific story about the Sairamand with selling their quasi religious articles the Sairamand gained popularity with people of lower inteigence and thus the sect and is not in tattered clothes. Many gained in its riches thus established the status of Saibaba in temple and project the God which is against all religions philosophy as preposition of God is not that easy for any sant to be declared God without any scientific reasons tested by its religion standards.
India is country where you can make fools to the millions and earn money by spreading stories and providing lower intelligence to the common man. To many religious critics the God is supreme and it’s all powerful wil not rest with any magicians.God test of even a yogi is that whatever the yogi wears has godly shine and yogi appearance on tattered cloth is not sort of God head or it’s disciple. Most of the speculators and small business fed this type of stories for many reasons but the religion is science which needs to the looked and worked carefully other wise thos practice with find themselves in state of poor materialistic nature.
There are numerous trust in India which has various followers and their fees goes in thousands ,a country of billions people where wisdom is not with masses but rest with few who convert it into faith for their ulterior motives and build their group ism even in ignorance giving very folkish reasons and their followers follow but this land has thrown these type of sect into dustbin because as you listen to these preachers you find them not even talking in sense of low level primary teacher.
Even small philosophy of nationalism,Gurudom ,ritualistic knowledge,hearsay wisdom bring the people to establish faith in half truths and lust of gaing religious power, lust of money and lust to gain fake popularity come to light with such marketing people and they getpaltrysucess for earning sake but fail to sustain I long run when put on fierce test.
Indian books of wisdom and it’s philosophy as per Swami Vivekananda is unmatched and more you read Indians book of wisdom ones wisdom to connect God become automatic such is strength of books of wisdom and those who practices shall know its wisdom.
Life is unique giftby God to reach to its grace with science,knowledge and experience and not to create an entity equivalent tothe Supreme power which is against all norms of common sense.Thus to evolve ones soul with faith in almighty grace is thus right path but blind faiths practiced for their personal comforts.reach a state where one flight must be to Supreme.
Any faith build on blind faith is useless exercise and those who practice live in their own world for lust of money and materialistic gain thus great loss to the evolving of soul in real sense where God faith is above all these material gains. May the trustee on dwelling on their Guru forget the God and Guru are not same where lGodis Supreme and Guru is special person to show the way to God a mentor is not God.
