Press Release         Date: 26 th  Oct, 2018        Analysis of  PAN Details of Sitting MPs and MLAs Introduction In the context of the Cobrapost’s revelation( visit:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TdLdsRYi8gs  ) pertaining to discrepancy in PAN details of MPs and MLAs, Association for Democratic Reforms (ADR) and National Election Watch (NEW) have analysed the PAN details of 542 sitting Lok Sabha MPs and 4086 MLAs. The PAN comprises of 4 alphabets, 4 numerical and an alphabet at the end, e.g.: ABCD4321F. Discrepancy noticed in the PAN card is that one number/alphabet is changed. ADR and NEW analysed the PAN details of re-elected MPs and MLAs in their affidavits submitted prior to last two Lok Sabha elections and last two elections in each assembly.  11 re-elected MPs and 35 re-elected MLAs  have dissimilarities in the PAN details submitted by them in their affidavits.
