DMA REJECTS THE RECOMMENDATION OF THE 7TH PAY COMMISSION JUNE 30, 2017 LEAVE A COMMENT ON DMA REJECTS THE RECOMMENDATION OF THE 7TH PAY COMMISSION When the recommendations of 7 th  pay commission came out, the government medical practitioners were shocked  after the government reduced the Non-Practicing Allowance (NON-PRACTICING ALLOWANCE), an allowance given exclusively to doctors, from 25% to 20%. Moreover, the 7 th Pay commission had delinked the NON-PRACTICING ALLOWANCE from the basic pay for further calculations such as HRA. Doctors had objected to the same, and demanded that NON-PRACTICING ALLOWANCE to be at least maintained at the status quo (as per the recommendations of the 6 th  Pay commission). CABINET CLEARS AIR INDIA DISINVESTMENT: JUNE 28, 2017 LEAVE A COMMENT ON CABINET CLEARS AIR INDIA DISINVESTMENT: The Union cabinet today cleared disinvestment of debt-laden Air India but the final modalities, including the quantum of stake sale, will be decided by a group of ministers. Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley said the cabinet has given ‘in-principle’ approval for disinvestment of Air India.A group will be set up to finalise modalities/details of disinvestment of Air India, including the quantum of stake sale, he said. The airline has a debt of more than 52,000 crore rupes and is surviving on a 30,000 crore rupees bailout package extended by the previous UPA government in 2012. Surviving on taxpayers’ money, Air India has been in the red for long and various proposals, including government think tank Niti Aayog’s suggestion for complete privatisation, have been made.
