Chennai
Water Resources 1869 BCM in Rivers + 431 BCM in Ground
Respected Madam,
India has 2300 BCM of water in our rivers and ground and more REUSE Resource. But India water use at present is about 690 BCM only.
NWDT reports 15-34 BCM of Cauvery Water Yield – But has 6.973 BCM Dam Live Storages Capacity in 5 CWC Monitored Dams – Karnataka Present Live Storage is 1.054 BCM, NWDT Directs it to Release for 3.83 BCM‘10+34+50+40 = 134 TMC’
TN Should Strive To Maximize Dam Storages Than Create Dispute

TN government letter of 15-11-2002 provided Yield Data of Cauvery River.
Ø Cauvery River Yield At Mettur Dam varies from 348 TMC to 927 TMC,
Ø Cauvery River Gross Yield 523 TMC to 1205 TMC. [15-34 BCM]
Ø UP TO 359 TMC [10 BCM] CAUVERY WATER IS LOST TO SEA Yearly,
Ø BUT CAUVERY TRIBUNAL CONSIDERED ONLY 14 TMC [0.4 TMC]
Month Wise Release of Water [TMC] Karnataka at Billigundulu P-242
