Kharif Foodgrains production estimated at about 124.05 million tonnes for FY2016 ( 1st Advance Estimates)

India is estimated to produce 124.05 million tonnes of Kharif food grains  during 2015-16 as compared to 120.27 million tonnes during 2014-15. Rice production is expected to record at 90.61 million tonne. Maize production is estimated at 15.51 million tonnes while production of pulses is estimated at 5.56 million tonnes. The production of nine major oilseeds put together is estimated at 19.89 million tonne and cotton production is estimated at 33.51 million bales.
