Mohali, September 9, 2013: The Professional Golf Tour of India (PGTI) will make its debut at the Forest Hills Golf Resort in Mohali, Punjab, with the staging of its third event of the 2013 Feeder Tour season from 10-12 September, 2013. The tournament will carry a total prize purse of Rs. 6 lakh.

The tournament will have a field of 72 players and will be played over three rounds of 18 holes each with the cut being applied after 36 holes.

The top names in the field include Chandigarh-based professionals Harmeet Kahlon and Ranjit Singh as well as the 2011 Feeder Tour Order of Merit champion Arjun Singh Chaudhri of Noida. Chaudhri currently leads the 2013 Feeder Tour Order of Merit, having won the first event of the season in Faridabad. The field will also feature two of the leading young golfers of the country Ashbeer Saini of Kapurthala and Angad Cheema of Panchkula. Cheema is currently placed second on the 2013 Feeder Tour Order of Merit, having won the second event of the season in Jaipur.

Speaking from Delhi, Mr. Padamjit Sandhu, Director, PGTI, said, “The PGTI Feeder Tour event at Forest Hills Golf Resort is yet another initiative by the PGTI towards taking the sport to various parts of the country. The joint efforts of the PGTI and the Forest Hills Golf Resort will help in further promoting professional golf in the state of Punjab which has already produced top-class professionals such as Gaganjeet Bhullar and Ashbeer Saini.”

(Retd) BS Sandhu, CMD, WWICS GROUP, the parent company of Forest Hills Golf Resort, incepted in the year 2003 had a vision of instilling a unique concept in sports, leisure and recreation, conceived on an unprecedented scale of magnificence in the foothills of the Shivaliks. The golf course is an eco-friendly destination that has retained the original beauty of the terrain while enhancing it with fresh plantation and water hazards.

The PGTI Feeder Tour event at Forest Hills Golf Resort is the third of a total of five events scheduled to be staged on the Feeder Tour this season. The last two events of the season will be staged at two different courses in Lucknow in October.
